This address is a gem. Warm welcome in a beautiful family-owned and run historic house, very central location. The rooms are lovely; each has a theme. Mine was 'Romantic'. decorated in that style, including period reading matter! Modern bathroom and very comfortable mattress. I cannot say enough positive things about my stay! Douai is a charming city, Your hosts at the Maison d'Hotes du Theatre love their city and have excellent suggestions for getting to know it. For example,I thoroughly e.
όλα τα σχόλια » We liked the character and charm of the building.It was spotlessly clean,and the bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view over the garden.Breakfast was very adeqate and typically French.The proprietor was courteous and endevoured to speak to us in English.Also very convenient for sightseeing and restaurants. This place is the opposite of a sterile motel room. It's a beautiful 18th century house, which has been in the proprietors' family for 150 years. The rooms are elegant and peaceful. And the mother-and-son team who run the place are delightful. Highly recommended. We loved the interaction with the owners.We learned so much about them, their home and their city. They were patient,considerate, and determined not let the language difference reduce our experience. It has a pre-revolution feel...not surprising as it dates from the 1760s. Used by film companies for a heritage setting, it has nevertheless been extesively upgraded in recent (very) years. From moment of arrival made to feel like part of household. Hosts could not have been more welcoming. Rooms spotless. Breakfast excellent. Location convenient for town centre. Very welcoming as soon as we arrived. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was excellent. The owners had done an excellent job of renovating the building. Very friendly ownber, very kind and attentive. Very clean, and comfortable. I loved everything. you need to make early arrangements for parking. we parked on the road opposite which was ok. Nothing. Marie and Benoit are perfect hosts. No complaints. WiFi seemed to have too weak a router signal, but forgot to discuss it with proprietor. Difficult to find. The sign for the hotel was too small. Drove past the hotel twice before we found it. The street name didn't match the address of the hotel and the one way system in Douai didn't help. Nothing to dislike. car parking ltd and a bit difficult to locate, breakfast was ok just bread/1 croissant and jar of jam. the staircase.
