We really enjoyed our stay at Sussex Shores. Excellent location on water (went for a morning jog along the river), view of water from both windows. The room was renovated and was very comfortable (nice bed). We stayed in a double room upstairs and I would recommend it over double rooms on the ground floor (it seemed double rooms upstairs have more natural light and better view of water).

Unfriendly, overbearing cleaner, we were about 20 min past the 10am check out time, he was standing outside the room making unhappy noises and intimidating us to hurry up and leave the room. There were plenty other things on the premises he could have been cleaning at that particular moment. Shame we left with a bit bitter taste...
There were cockroaches and Mosquitos in the room with a wiered unpleasent smell .
Having to pay $5 for a replacement towel.
Booked a twin and it wasn't ready. Moved couch and found rubbish underneath. Asked for a clean towel and was told it would cost $5.
