Situated alongside Macquarie Harbour, the historic Franklin Manor was originally built in 1896. It offers a guest lounge with a fireplace, free Wi-Fi and rooms with a flat-screen TV. Surrounded by lovely native gardens, Franklin Manor Strahan is set on the fringe of the Wild Rivers National Park, just 2 minutes’ drive from Regatta Point Railway Station and 5 minutes’ drive from Strahan Golf Club. Hobart International Airport is a 5-hour drive away. All rooms are elegantly decorated and include an en suite bathroom with guest toiletries. Some rooms include a spa bath. Each suite offers a refrigerator, tea/coffee making supplies and ironing facilities. The tour desk can book river cruises, fishing trips and seaplane tours. The hotel also features a library and luggage storage facilities. Free parking is available on site (subject to availability).

The house was fantastic, it felt like a welcoming home to return to thanks to the people who run the place. there was not a problem i could have that "JULIE" couldn't help solve, (Yep even car repairs, thanks Michael). Magnificently prepared room, great breakfast, comfy lounge, beautiful stained glass windows in the orsom stairway leading to my room. this place & the people of strahn made my Tasmanian holiday much better than i thought could be possible & my missus got a calender out of.

Close to Risby Cove restaurants and a comfortable walk into Strahan. Very relaxing, we would recommend it to those who like to indulge in Tasmanian hospitality. Plenty to do while in the area too. This place is great. Lovely old house in magnificent grounds. Ignore dated negative reviews, new management very friendly and helpful. Our Queen room was spacious with high ceiling and good facilities. Good continental breakfast in lovely dining area with large windows and garden views. The honour Bar system. The beautiful lounge rooms with fire place set ready to use, books to read and even board games, it made our stay feel very homely. I could happily move in, the decor and setting is lovely. felt very welcomed,and cared for. Accomodation had character, and very clean and comfortable. Quiet and relaxing setting. Great value for money, Think we made the best choice for our special two nights away. Franklin manor is a beautiful old home with that grand old world feel. Great location just a short easy walk into Strahan. Also liked the serve yourself style breakfast and free wi-fi. The facilities, location and style of Franklin were relaxing, convenient and welcoming. The host was friendly and helpful. The room and the leisure areas were well equipped. Was like stepping back in time but with modern facilities . Real good value for your money!!! Continenal Breaky , Beautifuly restored 13 bed home , just georgous. The gardens, location and building had fantastic charm and warmth. Lovely lady who knew the area and made the effort to be there and be hospitable at all times. Julie on reception was lovely, informative, helpful and friendly...big coonara fire was warm and welcoming....house was fabulous, good location... The manager was approachable and friendly. The underlying character of the house and grounds. Very little to like at this place at which I had booked 4 night. The garden was nice. We found the plumbing a little noisy, would improve dramatically with a little insulation through the cavity it goes through. But thats all we could fault, hope its a positive bit of advice. But all in all we loved our time there. Nothing I didn't like. Would probably have liked the option of a hot breakfast. Nothing!!!. Our room wasnt as described. There was a fantastic kitchen but no chef to untilise it. Place was having renovations. Things like a better heater, TV and general amenities could be better but I assume that's why they were renovating. n/A. Room was a tad cramped with the extra bed :( - room 11 a bit close to lounge when folk are up talking... It would have been nice to have the fires lit in the breakfast room--it was very cold--however the breakfast was good. Nothing. Would love to see a place of this type serve Tassie produce for their continental breakfast instead of Kellogs cereals, Kraft peanut butter & jams etc. Potholes in driveway should be filled in. No cooked breakfast and decor a bit out of character for the building. No ice available. Nothing of note. Bedrooms could do with a bit more revamping. Buffet area too small only one person at a time. Car park needs lines for parking to stop people taking more than needed. Rather lumpy bed. Nothing. Nothing. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I think you should offer a cooked breakfast if you are to charge rates under the name of B&B. Most B&B's we've been to offer a hot breakfast menu and there are usually staff around to take your order. We were a bit surprised that there did not appear to be any staff about and so I could not ask if there was any soy milk available - we ended up having breakfast elsewhere. All good!. No restaurant as advertised when the reservation was made. Cold shower on check out morning. the outside environs need attention. Looking out into the backyard of the neighbours. The heaters need to be checked and breakfast is great but should think of opening also for dinners. the restaurant was closed. Breakfast a little disappointing. Lacking a bit in cosiness, rather sterile. Cooked breakfast option would have been nice, but the continental breakfast was good. Lack of places to eat in Strahan, several were closed despite it still being summer period and a Saturday night. The window keeps vibrating while I walk in the room, it needs to be fixed. Fire place in the room needs to be cleaned properly. NO AIRCONDITIONING OR CEILING FANS on one of Strahans hottest days. The Continental breakfast could be improved by adding yoghurt and pastries. Food - no dinner available and the breakfast was very mediocre. Was clearly run by a hotel group - no personal attention or interest from staff. There was only one person on duty all the time and was trying to do to much so when you left there was nobody to see if everything was good enough.Rooms had no air con could do with putting fans in room if guest want to use them, which we could have done with. The fact that the property is not run by the owner but by a resident manager. The house, grounds and especially the bedrooms are in urgent need of capital investment to fulfil the property's potential. The breakfast is meagre and the buffet is poorly set up. Staff were unwelcoming - could not even say good morning , rooms ( I had to insist on a change) were tired , breakfast was just pretty average , garden chair looked great but were dirty and unusable .
