We stayed there for one night only and love everything there, especially the restaurant - food was just superb! We should admit that we have never before eating in the restaurant and adore every bit of the dish. We stayed in middle floor room with ocean view - that was really amazing! I will score the hotel 9.5, just because of oldish bathroom, everything else was excellent. Room was good with good facilities. We had a small problem with the toilet and staff moved us to another room very promptly and efficiently. (As it was a weekend maintenance staff were not available). Situation very good. Breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Particuarly because my father was a merchant seaman and it bought back memories of him as he went into the harbour on ships many times. The room and the views of the beach were excellent value for money. The food at the restaurant was wonderful. The parking under the hotel is also good. The hotel is situated in easy reach of the city and entertainment. We always stay here when in Newcastle. Easy walk to foreshore for bars and restaurants, great location just across the road from the beach (the view from the restaurant is stunning). Free parking is very handy. It is a very nice motel in a picturesque location, easily accessible to beach, baths, wharf, shops. Staff were really nice, approachable and friendly. Undercover parking on location is appreciated. The position to restraunts and entertainment was great. Although our room was extremely small it was very plush and suited our purpose as we spent very little time in the room. The old-style wooden fittings featuring silky oak. The great view of Newcastle Harbour and the possibility of whales which I say from the hotel 10 years ago. The spacious bed. Location,excellent,rooms were good,facilities excellent.We were there for a conference,and the room was just magic,excellent with great views.would certainly stay again. While if we would stay for longer then one night, I would not be too happy with bathroom - it was clean and tidy, but a bit oldish and weared out. Really need renovation and more modern look. Business centre internet access advertised at 20 minutes for $2, timing was not accurate, in fact, only about 10 minutes available due to system deducting extra time for use of printer (about twice the rate of actual time spent on computer). Reported to staff who were going to follow up with supplier. The staff, generally are friendly and helpful; the younger reception staff were not as friendly as the older staff nor were they as attentive: too busy looking at their computers. The older staff were excellent. The balconies were being upgraded, so were not accessible. That was a shame but I look forward to my next visit when I will be able to go onto the new balcony and enjoy the views. Balcony doors only opened approx 10cm and where locked. More fresh air would have been nicer. The slightly smelly bathroom. Musty. What was that? The location has gone a bit down at heel but in love with itself. where is there decent to eat nearby? Not everyone wants to pay $40 for a main, or eat a pizza. we did have a noisy air conditioner.Room 107.our own fault we didnt have enough time to see more of Newcastle. n/a. It was raining heavily when we arrived. Fortunately we managed to get the last spot in the undercover parking. I wouldn't know what to expect if we arrived a little later. All food is overpriced ($36 for 2 for continental breakfast!) and for the tariff free wifi should be available - again it is way overpriced. we had to leave to go back to work. couldnt get onto balcony like last time this should have been told to us as my partner really llikes to do that. At this price Wifi needs to be included, even 2star hotels in other parts of the world offer this. Bookings.com failed to arrange my booking correctly. The bathroom was in need of a serious upgrade and was seriously dated in comparison with the room. The door being locked out to the small balcony, the sign said sorry due to maintenance but this didn't seem to be true, very disappointing. Restaurant was beautiful but very expensive. Voice isolation of the room was not perfect, I was annoyed by a few noisy people next door until 4am in the morning, I should have told the stuff, but I was not sure if that would help. The access to the balcony was not allow, I don't think it was a good idea to the customer. initial contact with reception, person was not very nice. other staff and reception on check out were very nice. no dislikes. view of the carpark, will ask for beachside next time. Room was a bit outdated. Parking is an issue it is limited, the underground parking spaces are very small. Room was an ocean view but there was no balcony or window access to enjoy the view. Nothing, it was lovely. restaurant was overpriced. The room is a bit old & tired, but the bed was very comfortable. lack of overnight parking no outdoor leisure area. Nothing. Work in adjoining room early in morning No pool or gym for guests. could not go out on to the balcony from my room. shower over the bath. No balcony. nil. Prices. No access to balconies. Hard to get into restaurant without booking weeks ahead. Restaurant a bit pricy but I understand they have a more affordable lunch on Sundays!!. Parking was limited. Difficulty in finding a parking spot.....but not a huge issue.
