The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, I arrived 1am and the
staff was waiting for us. The room has kitchen supplies, the location
is surrounded by restaurants, pubs and the Flea Market. The next door
neighbor is a grocery store, 10-15 min walking distance to Palermo
Metro Station.

Excellent location in happening Palermo... Loft was spacious and with cooking facilities, and one is quite independent to do as one pleases.. Staff are very friendly... Hotel is clean and private... facilities are limited but its got a very homelike feeling... Grocery shop right next door...

reviewers mentioned that the entrance to the hotel is on a small narrow

It was a very calm peaceful setting in a busy city. We used the Ilum as our base and travelled to other destinations returning to the Ilum each time. The breakfast was very fine, the only problem was the small space in the first floor, So we had to have breakfast one day in the 2nd floor wich didn't have all the options for breakfast as in the 1st floor.
Jacuzzi was very spaceful -
One young man spoke excellent English and was very helpful.

Great location around Recoleta. Very close to many tourist attractions such as the Recoleta Cemetery and Teatro Colon. Friendly staff, most spoke English very well. Breakfast was minimal but enjoyable because there were no time constraints. I highly recommend a restaurant down the street called 'Cumana'-- try the locro! -

It´s in the middle of the major tourist attractions and if you´re up to some walking you hardly ever have to reach for a taxi.

We've been very fortunate in enjoying great travel. No hotel in the world, for us, compares to the Alvear. It is perfect in every way - the rooms, services, dining. It is expensive but worth every single cent. -
