Then on the other side, can walk to museo del prado etc. From the airport, take express bus to atocha then take the metro and stop at anton martin. the hostel is around 2-3 blocks from the anton martin metro station. Just follow the numbers. It has a small sign so look closely. If you see stores selling cloth and women's tailored dresses, you're near. Jose was very helpful.   I stayed here for 2 nights and I would definitely recommend it. Good price. Perfect location, only 1 mins to walk from Sol, with 3 metro lines and 1 train line to the airport. Very friendly staff. Old building but was clean and comfortable. Provided 1 shower towel and 1 piece of soap.   We stayed here just one night here after our flight arrived in Madrid and we needed a hostel that was affordable and within walking distance to the train station for our early departure the next morning. It's not a fancy building on an attractive boulevard, but it's within a short walking distance to the train station, which is all - It's an hostal, not an hotel. Said that, everithing was really good: WiFi decent, clean room (they clean it every day) and the staff is very helpful. Position is very good: really close to atocha, to the retiro gardens, the Prado, the modern art museum.. And close to city centre as well. In case in the district there are too different bars/pubs..

  - Location was perfect. Right in the middle of the centre. You can see almost all attractions by walking. Many shops around, many restaurants and food options. Make sure you explore the neighborhood before you decide where to get you meal. We paid about 35eu - Very good location in the city center, between Sol and Sevilla metro stations. When checking in I got keys to the room and front door, which was very convinient, because in other hostels sometimes you dont get the keys and have to leave them at the reception desk every time you get out (which is something which I really do not like in other hostels).

Basically in Puerta del Sol, with a subway station 1 min away, and at walking distance from the major attractions (Gran Via, Plaza de Cibeles, Calle Alcalá, Palacio Real, Catedral de Almudena, Paseo del Prado, etc.) a lot of shops, restaurants and cafés nearby, but inside the hotel it was reall... was die leute sagen » y quite, besides all the street noise.   This hotel was perfectly located just minutes walk from Atocha train station. It had many restaurants beside and near it, as well as a small supermarket. It was only three minutes walk to metro. The room was spacious enough, with a large bathroom. Free wifi worked well. - Airconditioned room was a dream. Staff were very friendly and room had excellent decor. Although I had a shared bathroom my room also had a sink and large mirror in it which was very useful. Location is great - right opposite Sofia museum and less then 5 min walk to hop-on-hop-off madrid city bus tours. Also next to 'low cost bar' with 1 euro drinks and tapas - great if you're on a budget.
