  We came in during a rain storm. The staff had the "fire" going in the fireplace, set out complimentary wine and allowed us time to shake off the cold. The rooms were luxuriously appointed... Ours had a separate sitting room with fireplace. Our daughter was across the hall. Moussaka, Stuffed chicken and Ostrich. We wish we had been able to fit more in! - The restored building is tastefully(not smart) decorated. The hotel is situated in a quiet street where most of the buildings are restored which gives the street a special atmosphere. Our room was spacious, with a double door opening on the stoep (which to me was very special). The staff was absolutely amazing!! The friendliness and excellent service of the staff members is hard to find. Chef Christopher even packed us snacks for the road. The dinner at De Wingerd Restaurant was delicious, so w
