We booked a non smoking room. When we arrived in the room it was smelting smoke. We got a new room right away which was a lot better. Although in Japan it seems difficult to get a really non smoking room. Especially in hotels which exist a little longer. However this hotel is perfect base for exploring Kumamoto and surrounding.

  Staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help me pack gifts I brought from home to ship to another prefecture in Japan. The location was very convenient, right next door to the train station. Kumamoto was a great place to stay with the hotel being right next to the station. We would have loved to stay an extra night as there is plenty to do in this lovely castle city. Position of the Hotel just next to the station, and with a cable car stop right in front of the door, then, both facilities are convenient to either help you organize excursion outside of the city limit from the station, or visit the town and have late evenings in the city.
