  Firstly, we never write any comments about the hotels on here as none have justified the action. Until now. Palace suites is truly a hidden gem in Split. From the moment we arrived (earlier than the required check in time) Zeljka made us feel so welcomed. I wanted to be in Diocletian Palace so I knew not to expect a big chain style hotel. This boutique property was delightful- the staff went out of their way to be helpful, my suite was beautiful-by far the largest Suite I have stayed in during my European travels.   Excellent everything. Small apartment was brand new-- only a few months old. Couldn't have been more comfortable. My room was located right on the main road around the corner from the harbor so location was great but street noise wasn't an issue. It even had a washing machine, but unfortunately I wasn't there long enough to use it.   All the staff were of a friendly nature and informative. The location for us was just right for us, out of the way of mass tourists/old town. - Cheap, staff very helpful and rooms had air conditioning. Standard but good value for money.
