Although I thought we were staying at the main Red Wall Garden Hotel, we
ended up, fortunately, at the San Yan Jing Hutong, which I assume is a
part of the Red Wall Garden operation. This place was picture perfect, a
wonderful Chinese setting with a clientele that one couldn't be more

in paradise. I don't know if all the hutong hotels are like this

It was very close, within walking distance, of two of the most famous hutongs. Very comfortable beds with a modern bathroom. The staff waited up for us until 1 am to let us in when returned to our room. The breakfast was great with many selections.

Hey Beijing is Beijing. It's a super busy place; it's polluted
(air) beyond belief. In itself, must be seen to believe. Kapok was on
the door step of the forbidden city and tien'amen and very
convenient for the purpose; to visit these. There is a food market on a
part of the Main Street that is, if anything, worth seeing. Good luck if

This hotel is in a great location for tourist very close for Forbidden City and shopping as well. The design is great and the rooms have wood floors, always a plus in China where carpet cleaning is not a top priority.

They upgraded me to executive suite - it was a pleasant surprise. Also, I was super happy with their flexibility. I had to run errands and couldn't get back to the hotel to check out before 2 PM and they extended my stay without charging me extra. Really thoughtful and the staff was truly amazing.
