The hotel room was excellent; neat pristine and staffed by wonderful staff. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone there the atmosphere was fantastically relaxing it had a very homely feel to it and was within 10 minutes stroll of the Lowthers pub, 5 minutes from the river and 2 Minutes from 'the wall' conspicuous in York. An excellent cosy stay and I'd not hesitate to put it forward. We had an 8 month old baby with us and the guest house were great with accommodating him - cot and high chair provided. They also assisted us with drying some of his clothes which was fabulous. The breakfasts were amazing. Also, the rooms were reasonably sound proof which helped our baby get a good night's sleep and also meant other guests didn't hear him!.
所有评语 » Carole kept in touch regarding my arrival time and made me feel very welcome. The room had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. My visit to York was short so I only stayed one night but I got the feeling that the Avondale would be a lovely place to stay for longer with nothing being too much trouble for Carole. Our hostess was lovely, loved York and shared her love and knowledge of the city. The B&B was squeaky clean, comfortable with environmentally friendly and thoughtful goodies in the bathroom. Very comfortable room, lovely bed linen, amazing breakfasts. Couldn't fault it and will stay again and tell all our friends. My Wife and i loved our stay at the Avondale, it was perfect in everyway, friendly staff, clean accommodation, super breakfast and we will be staying there again we would reccomend this B&B to anyone who is visiting York!! thanks for making our weekend away perfect Carole and Staff. Perfect location, everything was lovely. Carole made us feel very welcome & was full of information on where to visit, eat & York history. Breakfasts were amazing so much choice!! Whisky porridge is a must try! Even the weather was fairly good to for mid march!. Owner and staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Carole the owner gave us a really useful and informative talk about York when we first arrived. There were also plenty of leaflets and booklets, some made by Carole herself, all about York. I liked everything! Breakfast was just amazing! My single room was quite small, but very very beautiful, and had everything I might need. I would recommend this place to every traveller!. Carole was so lovely as hospitable. Told us a bit about the city and navigated us via a map. Easy access to city. Bedrooms comfortable and lovely extra touches. There was nothing about our stay at the Avondale that we didnt like. If you're arriving on a Thursday, make sure you speak with Carole on the phone so you don't have any problems checking in. It is difficult to find a bed that suits everybody. Nothing. Nothing. Room quite small and compact but still very comfortable. The only slight thing that was bad was the w/c was a tiny bit cramped but over all everything was really good and better than expected :-). Hard pillows!. nothing to dislike about avondale. Lack of comfortable seating/lounge.
