Beautiful Location ,just off the market square, Excellent breakfast, Wonderful friendly staff who pointed us in the right direction. Has the most fantastic beer garden that faces south, even though it was only 10 degrees it felt more like 30 sat there in the early afternoon. Very friendly staff, couldn't be more helpful. Window seat overlooking beer garden with good food, family & friends - fantastic. Beds really comfy.

Clean and friendly. Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Beds were comfy and Breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and the situation was great!. Thatchers cider. The barman. The town is lovely. Breakfast was very good cooked and served by a very friendly lady called Lucy. Very comfy bed. Staff were generally helpfull. The location was good and we thought that staff were extremely friendly. Bedroom had a nice view with a comfortable bed. Very pleasant friendly publican. Not very much!. near to Richmond. They do allow dogs into certain areas of the pub. It is budget accommodation and the decor is tired in places. Had to decide time of breakfast night before. The noise outside the front of our bedroom until early hours. Lack of towels in room. Also no mugs to use with hot chocolate sachet! Only 1 tiny piece of soap to use. we arrived and were told Sunday lunch was still being served so we ordered and waited 50 mins for it to arrive. The Hotel was a little tired and in need of sprucing up. There was only one member of staff at breakfast, that made things slow. Shower not powerful enough No vat number. Paid for a castle view room but it was double booked. Stayed in an inferior room but still got charged for the superior room. Was given 2 drinks and this was supposed to be in place of the castle view room which was £10 more! The quality of the breakfast was poor, cheap stuff and overcooked. We stayed on Friday and Saturday nights on the second floor. On Friday night loud music was still playing at 0045 and we could not get to sleep until we complained and it was turned off. Music was also playing on Sat night til very late but not as loud. This spoiled our stay. Will not book again. The hotel and bedroom was "tired" looking and very dusty in places. Towels old with holes in them. Shower head held together with tape. Loud thumping of music until late. Breakfast very ordinary - no fruit available, no choice of juices, packet butter and jams. Not really suitable for the mature traveller - as soon as we saw the "Sky TV" sign and "Pool" sign we realised that we had made a mistake - it would have been helpful to know this beforehand. Room 3 floors up Narrow stairs Small room TV not working tiny window 80 pounds too much after staying in more comfortable accommodation for less money. Green mold on the bedroom external wall. Bathroom floor dirty. General level of cleanliness very poor. The whole place seems to be run on a shoestring. The breakfast whilst appearing to be inviting was poor: Half a rasher of bacon? Come on! An old inn with no charm or. warm welcome Would we return... probably not..sorry but it just was not good enough. room not what I would call 3 star,breakfast not the best parking a big issue, music going on until 3am Sunday so will not be returning or recommend to any one.
