  Having read previous reviews we were not disappointed by what we found when we arrived. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, a credit to the hotel! The place itself was clean bright relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast was good once we had mastered the toaster! The pool and spa area was great too, so you must check this out.   We were given a great welcome by a delightful Spanish employee and as we were keen to see the Tour of Britain cycle race stage finish in Gateshead he allocated us a room with a view - we were very grateful.The dining room staff at breakfast set a high standard of service.
