John has a wealth of knowledge about the - Before we even arrived the owners were really helpful and friendly. On arrival shown to our room (only two bedrooms). We had a mini fridge with fresh milk (beats UHT milk any day!). The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was lovely. The couple who own the b&b were so welcoming. Perfect location for alton towers and great value for money. Can't fault this place! Will definitely book here again if we go to alton towers.

  We stayed here only for a night to attend an open day at Keele university with our daughter. But we are thinking about ways to get back to stay for a weekend to just relax.   After a busy day at alton towers it was a 5 min drive to the hotel. It was then lovely to sit and relax in the hot tub n sitting room n order a take away - Friendly service, quirky and lovely suite, lots of lovely local produce for breakfast, comfortable beds, would definitely recommend and will be back.

  I actually paid for this for my son and girlfriend to stay as they were going to alton towers. As it was his 21st birthday Jan upgraded his room. They both thoroughly enjoyed their stay and thought the hosts were excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. It is only a 6 minute drive to Alton Towers and in a very pretty village. The Beehive is a wonderful place to be based for exploring the area. The only drawback is that there are no restaurants in the village, just a pub with pretty average food but Ruth and Colin are happy to have you bring a take away to have in the breakfast room.

  Phil and the rest of the staff went out of their way on several occasions throughout our visit to make it the best it could be. They also gave great advice in terms of planning ahead and booking cabs in advance as there is a limited availability in the area.   With Dovedale literally just round the corner (by footpath!) the location of this B&B was perfect both for local walks and other Peak District attractions. We got a last minute rate of £60 for a twin room which was exceptional value for money but I would not hesitate to stay again at full rate. Lynne, our hostess, was very friendly and gave us tea and home made flapjack on arrival in the lovely drawing room. The photos online do not do the twin room justice in my opinion, the bathroom in particular is excellent.

  Richard and Linda were extremely welcoming, helpful hosts. My room was spotlessly clean, warm and the bed was seriously comfortable. The location, at the end of a lane means that Woodshoot is totally quiet. Breakfast is served in the dining room of their home and is just heavenly.   We stayed here whilst on a 2 day pass to Alton Towers. The guest house was located about 10 mins from the resort and was easy to find. Close to local shops/pubs/restaurants.
