  Very helpful, smiling, friendly staff. The chefs are fantastic. A very high standard of comfort and we were able to come and go as we pleased and could just sit and read in our comfortable, quiet room if we wished a sofa. The home cooked shortbread was daily replaced - sad for the waistline but absolutely devine for a few days 'chill'.   Charming country house ambience. Very comfortable double bed. 2 minutes stroll to Uppingham School hall where we were attending a charity ball.-- so no worries about drinking and driving or needing a taxi. Very good traditional English breakfast - Christina and Ian were both very accommodating and friendly.   Everything about it - Reception was warm and friendly - Bar service was tops and reasonably priced. Wine selection was good, attention to detail super, most of all the food was out of this world. Worthy of top chef awards. We thought all the staff paid attention to detail and worked hard to ensure you enjoyed your stay. E He has excellent customer service skills. The room was pleasant the beds good quality and the area quiet and rustic. Was babysiting for the family who were at a wedding at a larger hotel close to Oakham and the room rate was half that hotel and comfort wise we experienced twice as much. For a 10 min drive stay at The Old Pheasant Inn

  Really liked it , what stood out from most hotels was all the staff were young? But the most impressive thing was that these young staff were absolutely superb they had good personality s and were so efficient? 10 out of 10 for the whole team. - We had a fantastic weekend.
