  The receptionist, Aqua, was very friendly and polite. She made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our room was very pretty and tastefully decorated. Location of the hotel was ideal for the seafront (where the new parkrun on Saturday mornings will be taking place). They put on an early continental breakfast (7am) for us which was considerate. There is off-street parking but can imagine that this is tight when hotel fully-booked.

  Was very favorably surprised, considering the price we paid we expected something a lot less. The Hotel is in very good order, a lot of refurbishment, new carpets, the rooms we had were immaculate, better than Premier Inn & Travel Lodge by a long chalk. Plenty of parking and easy to get to Lovely atmosphere throughout

  Charming building and interior with very helpful staff that are very willing to help. We stayed in the spa bath room which does include a shower and it was lovely. Room was a great size and had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable. It was very nicely appointed. It was close to the cathedral and the center of town. There were nice shops and sightseeing areas nearby. The staff was quite friendly and the pub had really good food and drinks. The stairwell and hallways were kind of like a tiny maze but we found that to be charming.

  The location of the hotel was perfect. Just off the motorway, but set in lovely wooded gardens so therefore not much noise. In fact, no noise, with window closed! Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and something for everyone.   Thank you to the staff at Somerset House for an outstanding contribution to hospitality in Portsmouth/Southsea. We stayed 1 night only and could find nothing to complain about; not even I, an avid watcher of 'four in a bed!' Had a very nice meal at Rosie's Vineyard which was a short walk from hotel. Very pleasant overnight stay.

The estate was lovely, and the layout of the hotel made sense. The rooms were beautifully kept and appointed, and the place was restfully quiet at night. Amenities were enjoyed, and were well appointed and operated. We have no negative comment.
