Tea and cake in the afternoon of our arrival was a nice touch. Central location made it handy for shops, high level of cleanliness and top spec furniture and fittings. Good beer!

  We liked everything! The suites are perfect, with lovely appointments. The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It's very very clean. It's close to everything at Waterhead and only a mile from Ambleside, with good bus service to everywhere in the Lake District. The shower was neat because you could program it to the exact temperature and pressure you wanted it. The provided coffee, milk, biscuits, and hot chocolate were _sublime_.   We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. Large well appointed rooms in a stunning location. A pleasure to find an establishment of this standard that serves good honest pub grub at reasonable prices - just what you need when climbing the hills. Good to see a hotel supporting local real ale brewers not not just the usual 'fizz' that most hotels offer. Food and drink prices all very reasonable, nice not to have a shock when paying the food and bar bill. Staff all very friendly

  Loads of space in our apartment. The receptionist upgraded us to a larger room for free which was lovely and served our group much better. He also brought us a whole toy box for our daughter!   After reading some negative reviews about this hotel I was really not expecting much at all. How wrong I was. My two children (age 4 & 8) and I stayed for 1 night. The pool was a little cool but still enjoyed to the full.We look forward to our next visit. - the staff members were awesome they looked after our requirements of the menu as my wife didn't want what was on the sweet menu, they said no problem. she asked what do you like and they made it happen. wow impressive the chief was out standing in the presentation and taste of all the food we had. we really recommend the food top class at reasonable price. just like to say thank you for making our weekend special we will be going back
