fantastic place, food was cooked from fresh,delicious , reasonable priced, owners fabulous. Nothing was spared so we had a fantastic time. very clean, nice and quiet valley, great for walks, surroundings are spectacular. there is a drying room, great for wet afterwalk clothes. Special thanks to Alan who rescued us after being lost and saved to near valley Eskdale. He came friday night to pick us up (me and my son) 1 hours round journey, despite the restaurant and pub being full. On arrival we w.
所有评语 » From the moment you arrive I can guarantee you will feel at home. The room was quiet; had shower and was immaculately clean. Food was amazing; I had fish pie and t'other half impressed with meat quality on his pork chop. Oh plus 6 cask beers from on site brewery also oiled our evening. Lovely big breakfast followed by short stroll down to Waswater lake. This is a hidden gem of a place. Staff pride themselves on customer service; everyone friendly. Open fires, walkers, great atmosphere. Book ta. Obviously being a Micro-Brewery the Real Ale was excellent the evening food was excellent and Breakfast made a good start to the day before going out for a long walk to Wasdale head and around the lake. The service was first class and very friendly. The Hotel is normally booked up so that speaks volumes for people trying to book there. This is the second time we have visited the Hotel and it won’t to the last. We had a tour of the Brewery on the Sunday just before leaving and we bought some Bo. Very Friendly staff, conveniently located close to many paths to mountains etc. Rooms well equipped with tea making facilities, small shower room nicely furnished. Breakfasts incredibly good and very generously sized. Didnt need to eat all day! The pub served very good food, i recommend the steak and ale pie, again very very nice. Overall very impressed. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was clean and had a very good atmosphere.The location was great and ideal for walking and getting on the fells in the western lakes. Location is terrific for Wasdale and the mountains. Nothing...other than we wished we had time to stay another night. “The weather” but unfortunately we don’t have much control of that !!!. The beds duvet was insufficient, very lightweight, i felt cold at night, could do with extra blankets for the time of year. Also i think the mattresses need turning or renewing, Uncomfortable beds, did not sleep too well sadly. However the room was warm and comfortable otherwise. The bed in our room was on the small side hard and not very comfortable. One meal was poor and we complained and it was removed from the bill (even though we didn't request this) No fresh fruit or porridge for breakfast. Can't think of anything I don't like. No wi-fi. Bath very slow to fill. We stayed in the executive suite so i would have expected the bed to be abit larger and the TV was very small and the shower and bath werent always very hot. Nothing. Room and bathroom both somewhat impractical - not enough storage space in the bedroom so had to leave our bags on the floor; towel rail in the bathroom not big enough to hold all the towels, and no shelf (there was a cupboard, but having to put my glasses in that every time I wanted to wash or shower was rather inconvenient). No dislikes. Bedrooms above bar area are very noisy. car parking area could be better. small TV in room and lack of hair dryer in the room. Prefer to have bath (with shower attachment) Seating downstairs not very comfortable Very noisy and cramped eating there on a Saturday night!. Limited parking for residents as parking spaces used by pub visitors-needs allocated spaces for RESIDENTS ONLY to make residents feel more valued-especialy when you have travelled a long way to get there only to find nowhere to park. It was very busy at the time we visited. Food on small side and a little dated. helpings too large would have preferred a bath to a shower. Water Pressure.
