This is a great hotel for people who want to have immediate access to central london but want to stay away from all the noise of the centre. The location is excellent and literally round the corner from Queensway tube station which is just 4 stops away from Oxford Circus. Also one street away from the hotel there are many places to dine in and souvenir shops. The hotel is great in terms of value for money. The staff are helpful, the room is small but contains all the necessities. The hotel is .
所有评语 » The location is perfect, walk through Hyde Park, two tube stations & buses less than 5 minutes & taxis passing every minute. Restored original features & architecture are glorious! Breakfast is excellent, loads of variety & good quality. Staff are very friendly & extremely helpful & go out of their way to assist. It is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! Rooms are clean & comfortable, bathrooms spacious, modern & spotless with everything you need. Beds very co. * Upon arrival we were told we're being upgraded to a 'club' room (room 18). Unexpected & positive surprises are fun! * The staff was eager to help & available, even though some had a little less-than-adequate English. * The hotel is very interesting- historical decorations & a back-story. * The bed was very comfortable. * The backwards-facing room was quiet & had adequate room. * From the -1 floor we picked up the Wi-Fi from the lobby pretty easily. * 2 minutes walk from 2 tube. Renovated (!) Victorian building combines modern comfort and typical London atmosphere. I had a very nice single room on the 7th floor - of quite a decent size, having in mind that usually rooms in London hotels are oh so small. Solid English breakfast in a lovely spacious dining room. My favourite location in London - close to Hyde park, where it's so nice to take a morning walk on the way to one of the close tube stations. All in all good value/quality ratio. Most probably would stay there ag. I booked the room through letsbookhotel.com, never again. There was some confusion over the payment details, i was sent an email from letsbookhotel.com, i re-enetered my details and recieved a confirmation email back to say the details had been passed on to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel they said the room had been cancelled because they had not received my payment details. Most embarissing and inconvenient. Great location!!! Next to two underground stations (Bayswater and Queensway in the same street) The staff was kind, clean room, tea & coffee & biscuits in the room,apples at the reception, wi-fi offered, printer at the ground floor so we could print our web check-in, nice fire places at the ground floor. Good value for what we paid, I will return again to this hotel in my next visit to London. The bed was really comfortable - and the pillows were wonderful! I wish the ones I have at home were as soft; I'm going out to buy some new ones! :-) The room and ensuite were small, but very clean, and the shower was great. Lovely large towels, too. I also liked the pad and pen; they were useful, and nice to keep as a souvenir; The staff were very nice, and the lounge and reception are magnificent. It was a special occasion being my girlfriends birthday& they gave us a free upgrade from a superior room to a suite . It was a very kind gesture and made all the difference. The breakfast was really delicious and location was ideal being so close to tube station. We look forward to staying again in the near future as we do visit london on a regular basis. The hotel is in a wonderfully rich period building, and the management has done a great job retaining the details (especially in the lobby and common areas). We loved this hotel and look forward to going back!. - Very near to underground stations, bus stops, supermarket (sainsbury), chinese and thai restaurants, pizza places, Hyde and Kensington Parks - facilities all functioning well: bathroom, hot/cold water, TV, wifi, lights - staff very helpful and courteous - biscuits and drinks (choco, coffee, tea) refilled in rooms everyday. I really liked the appearance of the hotel, as it is really "old-london" like. The location was also very nice, as it is fairly central and the subway is just right across the corner. The shower is tiny & if you're tall you can't stand up straight. You literally have to open the shower door to get enough room to towel-off after the shower. The blinds were broken so I couldn't pull them up (room 219). I think they need to be replaced as they didn't look as if they were repairable. Leaving !!. The room size is suitable for a solo traveler or couple only - without any floor space surrounding the bed, it is impossible to imagine a family staying in the room I was assigned (though it was perfectly serviceable for 1!). We have no complaints whatsoever!. The rooms were pretty small and the room I got (I believe) was too far away from the router, so I did not get a wifi-connection. The room did not have a refridgerator, which is always nice to have. The bathroom was pretty, but there were no showercurtains, so each time I showered, I had to put towels on the floor. Even with towels and being careful, water went outside of the bathtub. staff needs more training about facilities, shopping and services in the area, like where to find a good spa, etc. Needs better consierge services. breakfast is over priced. the computer in the lobby is in terrible need of an upgrade. Staff never offered to help us with our bags, which I thought was unusual. N/A. It's not a big deal, but my door (room 805) was very difficult to open coming out from the room and it doesn't shut properly on itself so you have to make sure you shut it securely before you leave. Leaving. Room size is too small, barely any space around the bed .. bathroom tiny for a couple .. Booked standard room on here so no breakfast included unless you book direct with hotel. Rooms very small around 8ft x 9ft cube. Rooms felt run down and needed repairs. Nothing bad to say, as did not get to use all the facilities. The rooms are very small (I aske to be moved to another room as the first one I was given was a bit clautrophobic. The 2nd one was a bit better but still small. It was facing the front and it had a serious draft. The was no heating in the lobby area the day I arrived (and it was a 2 degrees night) so I didn´t have a great 1st impression. Can't think of anything - I would have liked a bit more room, but I only used the bed & bathroom... On looking at the Hotels website for directions the night before arrrival, we saw that our deluxe room was available at almost half the price we paid and including breakfast when booking a week earlier. When I spoke to the receptionist on arrival, she was unable to change the price but upgraded us to a Club Class Room which although small, was very pleasant.I do wonder what the deluxe room would have been like. Misleading advertisement of "free wifi", as its only available in reception lobby and difficult to get it upstairs. Small room, a bit too cramped for furniture, but homely and comfortable. Bath/shower had no curtain/sliding door? Bathroom was completely drenched after a shower ! Some bathroom tiles cracked and sharp underfoot. Some noise in the morning when the dustbins were picked up from a passage at the back of the hotel. Problem if you're a really light sleeper who can't drop off again ! Me !. Some of the older features in the public areas were looking somewhat worn and damaged which was a shame because I am sure the character of the hotel would have some foreign visitors. It's an old building that's been kept that way for it's appeal. The downside is that maybe things don't always work like they should such as the boiler and lifts. Adds to the charm. The room was very small--the old London problem---but what was described as a 'spacious superior single' was only about 2m x 3m and it was impossible to move round it without moving furniture, putting cases in the shower, etc. The hotel gave me a larger room when I raised my concerns but I wonder why, if that was available, it wasn't allocated in the first place. Too small and cramped for a double bed. Far too hot, unable to turn off heating, aircon was on full - had to open window. No conditioner provided, no menu or info for breakfast in info book. Not 4-star - marks on ceiling, chips out of door, missing tap covers. Only worth the discounted price. The size of the single room is very small - just to fit a single bed! Luckily, I was upgraded to the deluxe room on my third day due to electricity failure in the single room. Tiny rooms -but they are all like that in this area. Breakfast was too expensive - cheaper alternative would have been welcomed. Wireless rather than wired Internet would be an improvement. The only thing we found difficult was the size of the bedroom which we found was far too small especially the en-suite. I didn't like the fact that it is in a street full of hostels and on a night they are all sat outside smoking drugs you feel high walking up the street.This is a shame as the hotel is an excellent. I had booked a superior deluxe double as that was all on offer for that price. When I arrived I was offered a twin which suited me, however the twin was extremely small barely enough room to get our small overnight suitcase in through the door and passed the wardrobe. One very small window, the room was very dark, needed a light above the mirror over the desk. 1 elevator out of service for 3 days. None. The room was quite small TV channels were limited (no CNN). I cannot fault this Hotel. Nothink to report all good. Shower room/toilet space a bit cramped; needed hooks on the door for bath towels. Nothing. Room smaller than advertised. In fact, small is an understatement. The room heater don't seem to work well and had 2 days of poor TV reception. I had a prepaid booking and I have been doublecharged on my credit card. No difficulty in getting a refund, however this may be troublesome for payments in currencies outside the eurozone, since bank charges apply both for payment and refund. Now this is a minor problem. Room was very small for a double, fine for one but would have been very tight for two people trying to move around. tiny rooms below club rooms.
