Pub with accommodation and food suited us perfectly, meaning we could park up, have a meal and drink without any worries of drinking and driving. Good food, good beer, friendly Landlord and a good breakfast to send us on our way> what's not to like?. Second time i have stayed there, Ken the landlord is such a nice bloke and makes you feel welcome and his staff. Always have a good laugh with the locals at the bar. Great cooked breakfast. Excellent place.

The Angel Inn is 400 years old, full of character and a friendly atmosphere. Within that is modern accommadation, personal hospitality and good food and Ales. Great hospitality, big coal fire, excellent food and real ale. Atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. Fantastic location ideal for walking and motor biking. Very friendly staff and first class service. Clean comfortable room. Excellent evening meal and very large breakfast. Very good value for money. Fantastic breakfast. Very welcoming staff. Great location if you want to really get away from it all and see a real old village. When I arrived the place was closed. The bar side of the business does not trade between 3pm and 7pm but this is not mentioned on letsbookhotel.com website. Dreadful smell in basement next to breakfast room. Bed not very comfortable. The room was quite small. The room was a bit small and needed a little decorating. The whole pub needed some decorating. It was just what we expected from a north pennine ancient inn so no complaints. Only being able to get out at one side of a double bed. double room very small, very noisy pump when in shower or flushing loo!. not a great deal of space in the room but is an old historic building. Not their fault. Very noisy as near a cobbled main road. Not open at first, so felt a bit weird having to knock to go in. Slightly shabby but service was good and breakfast very good. Can be very busy till late (past midnight)- if you like a lively pub and are on a tight budget, this is for you; if you are after peace and tranquility, in sound proof luxury, then its not. Accomodation showing its age. Noisy toilet. When booking through letsbookhotel.com a few hours before there wasn't any one at the place to let me in until after 18.00 hours when check in was meant to be at 15.00 hours and then they were not sure if they had a room for me. A very old establishment and it shows. We arrived mid-afternoon and the place was closed, nobody to be found, for about an hour. Nice people. Rooms were grubby, but food was ok. We don't think The Angel Inn does anythng at all for the reputation of bookings.com.
