We stayed at holiday inn in southend since our flight to Amsterdam was taking off from southend airport. So we ended up staying there for two nights. It was absolutely the right decision. From the minute we walked in we were struck by the friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was great, nice sea view and we even had a balcony. Easy to find, cleanliness of the room and hotel overall, the bedroom was very well presented with beautiful furniture and linens and plenty of tea and coffee, the house and gardens well and nicely maintained, excellent breakfast, spacious luxurious room.
