Perfect location, super close/walking distance to everything. Comfortable for a weekend stay in Madrid and perfect for quick relaxation during the day and sleeping at night.
We were also given the choice between the interior or exterior room. We chose exterior, which had a balcony.
*Note about the exterior room, it may be a little noisy from the street below but not enough to be disturbing. However, if you're looking for more silence take the interior.

Several times stayed earlier in Hostal Sotileza:
1. Very friendly staff.
2. Very clean.
3. Reliable wi-fi in the rooms
4. Position: close to many historical sights - Sol, Real palace etc.;
Direct commuter trains from Sol to Chamartin and Atocha stations as well as to El Escorial. On the way from/to Barajas airport it's better to make change at Nuevos Ministerios station.
5. Very good place for this money.
- The best: An excellent location, close to Plaza Sol, Mayor Park, Royal Palace, Opera, Gran Via and others.
- Also, a good cleanliness was a plus.
- Lo mejor: Una excelente ubicación, cerca a plaza del Sol, parque Mayor, palacio Real, Opera, Gran Via y otros.
- Además, un buen servicio de limpieza.
Great location, tiny bit noisy but not unbearable. Clean, nice room. Excellent value at 40 euros per night. Beers on sale for 1-50,.
Fantastic location in walking distance to anything and everything, great value, clean, fresh towels daily.
Simple accommodation but with a very good price. The position is excellent, in the very center of Madrid.

Modest but very nice hostal.
Perfect location: 3th floor (lift) on a pedestrian shopping street with both the main square and the royal palace around the corner, both are great for evening strolls. Friendly people.
Day of arrival the hall had a funky smell but it was eliminated quickly.
Someone mentioned the walls being thin, which I did notice but it was in no way unbearable. You could really only hear the water system from the shower next door, but I personally did not mind it.
May be noisy in the evening and in the night, if you open the balcony door.
- It was difficult to find simple things (but necessary in summer) within the hotel, such as ice, which had to be look for from a store near to the hotel.

Owner wouldn't let my 8 year old son go to room at 1230am until he had laboriously filled in a form.
None of the staff spoke any English at all which made communication slightly difficult.
Small room, even tinier bathroom: toilet had to be seated sideways! Still good value though.
