  We stayed twice, a week apart. The staff were very helpful with explaining how the taxi system worked so that we didn't pay too much a second time. On our return visit our request for a room at the back was met with an upgrade, even though the previous room had been excellent. The buffet dinner and breakfast had great choices. Excellent accommodation and facilities and very helpful and friendly staff made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The food was excellent, including the breakfast buffet which was vast and covered many different cuisines. If staying in Manila again I would definitely stay in the Sofitel. The location is something that might not appeal to everyone as it's a short taxi ride to most lively places, but I like it because it's set in an everyday Filipino suburb.
