  We liked the convenience of the location. Walking through Hagley Park and on to the Botanic Gardens was great. We also walked to breakfast some mornnings at Vic's (a great spot!) and dinner at various restaurants. The desk staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. The free Internet was great, especially since that was our only connection - The ability to check in late (1.30am in my case) by prior arrangement was much appreciated. The hotel is close to some really nice places to eat. It's far enough from the centre to not feel like you are in the middle of depressing devastation, but close enough to walk to the Re-Start Mall and things that are still open (like the excellent Canterbury museum) in the centre of the city.

  The hotel was a short bus ride from the city centre (around 5-10 minutes) on the way to airport and costed a few NZD. The hotel staff were friendly and offered free shuttle transfers every 15 minutes to the airport.
