I stayed on the barge with my two children aged 8 and 12. We used to live in Dublin so wanted something "different" to make it more interesting and the barge was certainly that! Trish and her husband (the owners) had thought of lots of "extras" to make us comfortable and to make life easier for us. I had expected it to feel a bit like camping but I really couldn't have asked for anything more - I would definitely recommend a stay on the barge and hope to return soon. Location was great. Hosts were better than great, such fun to stay on
this barge and really comfortable. The canal option was so good and our
friends young kid loved watching it all unfold....so did the adults. You
want for little staying with Dublin Barge Hire and its right downtown
walking distance to Trinity College, all the museums, and the new
Rugby/ Soccer stadium. Not to mention just a block from the train
station to go out to Howth! Cannot recommend enough, wonderful and fun
for both of.
Location - second to none! Approx 15-20 mins walk to city centre. Bakery, cafes and supermarket within 1 min walk.
Hosts (were AMAZING, easy to contact and so welcoming and friendly)
So clean and cozy.
Cost effective- well equipped kitchen and cupboards that allowed for home cooking to be done. No need to spend extra money in restaurants or pubs as can be done at home.
Loved this stay! Trying to decide when to go back.
It is an amazing barge and I would highly recommend for anyone with a sense of adventure or wanting something a bit different to stay there.
