This is a fantastic boutique hotel located at the highest point of the caldera with breathtaking views - the best in Santorini. We stayed at the Honeymoon Suite (who says that you can only book those when you're on honeymoon ;), so the steps were not an issue (the lift goes almost all the way down to the suite). We came to Santorini for the wedding of our best friend and we stayed in Solaris. The hotel was very nice near to the center so we could easily reach our friend's hotel walking. The best part of petite palace is the people and service. From the moment you arrive it's as if you are their only guest. The views of the caldera and sunset are one of the best in Santorini and the hotel is luxury, boutique and romantic. Our teenage daughters loved it. A shuttle is available but get a car and explore Santorini for all it has to offer. Petite palace is a perfect distance from Fira and the car rental comes to you.
