  It's amazing how the staff cares about you. The men that was on duty when I checked-in gave me much more information about what to do than the "office de Tourisme" (which main role should be this). I got there before check in time but could take the room straight away. Breakfast buffet varied and fair price. He gave suggestions for dinner, which was wonderful. He also gave us a simple photocopied map of Metz and drew a walking trail highlighting must see spots. He also directed us to the correct bus to visit our son at his study abroad campus. This was very important as we speak no French and there were few in the town that could converse in English.   We were on a motorbike tour and we stayed for a 1night stopover hotel before travelling on to Vosges Mountains. Having read poor feedback about the nearby Campanile and other hotels already full it meant we had to pay a bit more for a room than we would normally. The restaurant is expensive however it was good food and busy with non residents. We only had an evening meal decidin - Room lovely, if a little small. Everything worked as it should. The staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful. We missed breakfast one morning and the restaurant manager took the trouble to get coffee and croissants for us, despite him being very busy preparing for a wedding. The hotel is in a great position for visiting the area, or for passing through. Metz centre is 10 minutes by car.
