  I really enjoyed my time in Amboise. To some extent that was due to the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The position of the hotel was great and allowed us to explore Amboise on foot with great access to restaurants and shops.   Set in its own grounds, very peaceful, excellent parking. Our room was excellent, large and spacious with good facilities. The food was excellent, although the menu was limited and didn't change for the three nights we were there. Tours is a very upmarket and cosmopolitan area with lots of historical sites.   Very helpful owners. Lovely location. Swimming pool very welcome after long hot drive. Lovely fresh breakfast. - Excellent, fresh croissants, bread, pain au raisin and pain au chocolate - however no yogurt or fresh fruit.
