  I really enjoyed my time in Amboise. To some extent that was due to the quality of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff. The position of the hotel was great and allowed us to explore Amboise on foot with great access to restaurants and shops.   Set in its own grounds, very peaceful, excellent parking. Our room was excellent, large and spacious with good facilities. The food was excellent, although the menu was limited and didn't change for the three nights we were there. Tours is a very upmarket and cosmopolitan area with lots of historical sites. Food was very good and with a nice wine what more do you need. Spa very good but book in advance, also kitchen very busy so if you want to eay early book also. Staff very nice and very helpful. This place is a gem
