  Well Pascal made it for us. He was such a nice guy and great company, not that he intruded at all. We learned more about French culture and social life from Pascal than any guide book.   An overnight stay in Bergerac was selected as part of a drive to SW France, and Le Colombier de C&R looked intriguing as a potential stay. I would recommend a visit to historic Bergerac and a stay with Betty as a memorable experience (for the right reasons!) without reservation. Try and reserve the bedroom with the balcony, - The 'chambre' was charming. Very different from the normal accommodation, slightly crazy but it provided all you could need and more. The balcony with hammock was am amazing touch in the middle of the city. Very good breakfast and helpful charming host. Also the city is very interesting and a great place to visit.

  The hotel was small, clean and pleasant with the bonus of a swimming pool. The staff were excellent, especially when we arrived during a festival and couldn't park. One of the owners sorted this out very quickly with the local security.   A lovely building which has been tastefully renovated and decorated. Around 5 minutes drive from Bergerac and a short drive to some good restaurants. We stayed in the superior double room and it was probably the best we have ever experienced in many years of travel. Breakfast was excellent and our host was a pleasure to be with.
