  Pousada is positioned right in the historic center, staff is very welcoming and service is excellent. Special thanks for Madalena and Danilo that did everything to enjoy our stay in Paraty.   We had a lovely stay in this pousada. The owner speaks very good French and proved very friendly. The place is just beautiful with small bungalows, plants and a very nice relaxing area with a swimming pool, a reading place and where you have breakfast. They even have parking - Our pousada (or guest house) was beautiful. At first we were a bit worried as the cab dropped us off down this dark street that looked a bit scary -- but then when we open the door to the pousada it was an amazing oasis of lush vegetation, orchids, squirrel monkeys and humming birds. It was almost like a small village with lots of buildings for breakfast, TV rooms, pool and sitting areas. The owners had a wonderful collection of paintings, sculptures and lots of folk art.

Receptionists were all kind (while you have to communicate in Portuguese.) and arranged the boat tour for us with lendi - The old charm. The building has a lot of history and it has been decorated with mostly family furniture and objects. Everything is in keeping with the period in which the house and the town was built in. However it does not feel like a museum. The staff were excellent. Very experienced, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
