  We loved staying in the Santa Monica Apartments. The log cabin was really cosy and we were very comfortable. We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts which were brought to the cabin each morning. It's just round the corner from the main street in El Calafate so really conveniently located. The service was exceptionally good.   Accommodation was more than adequate. We were sharing with daughter and son-in-law and we were pleased with the space and equipment (except kitchen equipment - see below). We stayed a second time after a trip to el chalten and it felt like coming home.   The host was wonderful and very helpful with recommendations for things to do in the area. She also told us about an excellent restaurant. The room is clean and comfortable, everything is modern and looks new. The kitchen area was useful (especially when one evening we wanted to eat something else than lamb/beef). I would recommend this place to anyone. - The person who received us in the hotel was very nice and helpful. The installations were adequate for the price, the internet was surprisingly fast, and the satellite television offered an enormous number of channels. The location is also very good, close enough to the main strip so everything could be done on foot, but far enough so we wouldn't be bothered by the crowds that fill the city center.

  Located very close to the bus terminal and the town. Staffs (Mother and the son) were very very helpful and flexible with the payment, check in/ check out time and so on.   Gabriel, the host, was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel and rooms were decorated with a lot of taste. The hotel was located near the bird reserve and lake. It was very peaceful to stay at this hotel. The hotel has a restaurant that serves specialities from Patagonia. You have to pay the hotel in cash in order avoiding 10% in more but this is an information you know as soon as you reserve and they remind it to yo - Staying at Cauquenes de Nimez was one of the best travel experiences we ever had. It is not a place for those looking for luxury, but instead you will find a great staff that will make their best to make you feel like you are at home. Have a free cup of tea at 6 o'clock looking at the birds flying over the Nimez laguna and waking up with the birds singing is really fantastic.
