Its a great hotel with a very friendly family owners, who will help u without any tips (I tried to give them, but they said "we are appreciate but we dont need it") - from how to use american phones to showing u best way to arrive somewhere.
And it looks like they love their business, 'coz not only I was terroring them by my silly questions, there are many nice young travelers (most of the guests) who might ask just one question a day but it makes 1000000 questions per day - if I were them I wo. alla recensioner »
Jill and Carloss were amazing! They were so helpful with anything I needed and were very welcoming. The entrance doesn't look like a typical hotel/hostel which makes it like a hidden; it also made the place feel safer because unlike some of the other hostels and hotels in the area there weren't any scary people hanging around or staying at the place because of this feature. It's also not to far away from Market and Mission for any needed shopping, but there are tons of shops closer than that .
1. Security is important to me. I felt my stuff was safe in the room
because the doors had "credit-card type" card readers
instead of keys.
2. I could put my subway sandwich in the fridge in the room. And the subway sandwich shop was across the street.
3. The location in SOMA was near folsom and all the fun stuff I wanted to do was close by.
4. Friendly staff
5. You can't beat the price for SOMA.
Great welcome from the staff, they couldn't do enough for you. I arrived in the city early and was just going to drop my bags off and come back later, but they checked if the room was ready and let me take the room 3 hours early. Very central location. Quiet room. Fantastic value for money.
The location is really good and the staff is friendly and helpful.
The room was really clean and it was great value for a hostel at that location.
It is a hostel and not a hotel with keeping that in mind it is a pretty good deal.
The Staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a great night's sleep the whole of my stay, the other Guests have a great consideration of others. Walking distance to city center. Recommend it.
Depending on the money and location everything was super! Very near to Union Square and cozy rooms. The block is a bit scary but hey, isn't all the streets in SF full of homeless/high people?.
seemed almost like a hotel/motel except for the shared bathroom
my friend and I had a room to ourselves and it was affordable
friendly staff
walking distance to cool stuff.
Well the things that I like about staying at the Europa Hostel were;
friendly & helpful services from the staff, Great location, budget-
friendly, and free wi fi.
The owners are very nice and friendly... Rooms are clean, mattress and bed linen seem new, great location... I highly recommand this hotel. Thank you for kindness.
Staff was super friendly, beds were comfy, and the room was quaint, but cute. Location was right downtown, and close to alot of stores. Price was amazing!!.
Jill and her husband are great managers, very friendly, eager to help the guest - overall nice people. Without a doubt the best feature of the hotel.
quiet room. good security doors, close to all the fun stuff in SOMA. Bigger showers. Hot water. Sinks in rooms was nice to have.
Very friendly husband and wife owners. Very knowledgeable about San Fran and the cheapest and easiest way to get places.
Carlos was so welcoming and helpful. The room was private (not a dorm) and had a sink -- huge bonus!.
Carlos and his wife were so friendly and helpful! They went out of their way to accommodate us.
Very friendly staff
Great Value
Other guests were friendly
Located near good parts of city.
I was explained very patiently the way to get back to Oakland.
Cleanliness, quiet time, the spot, and most of all the hostess.
VERY friendly & helpful staff
Clean, comfortable rooms.
Bed was comfy. Lady who checked me in was very friendly.
The hosts were so gracious, friendly and helpful.
very helpful staff.lovely couple.
Friendly atmosphere and owners.
Location ,prices,friendly staff.
Good location and great staff.
Great price, friendly staff.
Location.
price.
Woman at the reception very friendly. The presence of homeless people at the nearby 6th street could impress negatively, but I did not feel unsafe. The hotel has just been restored and despite the tiny door ugly facade the rooms are very, very clean and have microwave, tv and washbasin in rooms with shared bathroom. Quite central and served by buses, trains and taxis. I found it great for the money I spent.
Host was very nice, explained me lots of things. Check-in and check-out were very quick. You can walk to a large mall, a bart station and the Union Square in a couple of minutes from there.
Great staff. I love Jill and her Husband. Thanks for being so considerate towards my friend and I. Especially when we locked our key in the room and woke you up to let us in.
Close proximity to the city, walking distance to the nearest cable car line.
Very comfortable King sized bed.
It had a sink in the room.
It is clean and has a reasonable price. It is close to downtown area and easy access to public transportation.
The staff were extremely friendly. As a hospitality student, I was humbled by how hospitable the staff were.
Good localization, the room was clean, 24 h easy check in. Good choice of restaurants close to the hostel.
For the price (and proximity to Central area) in San Francisco, it was good.
This hotel's service is awesome. The front guy was so nice.
Perfect owner, nothing was problem! The room was clean.
Really kind staff, common bathrooms were often cleaned.
close to Moscone conference center.
-low price.
The room is spacious, and the staff friendly.
Good location, kind personnel.
Decent compared to its price.
Good enough for one night.
Good price.
If there were not a lot of homeless around, I could say that location is good. Because it is close to downtown.
Cheap and affordable, near Moscone and Market st. There are grocers nearby I like the owner "cool guy".
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and getting a private
room is nice for the price.
Good Price, Location is very Good, room and bed was ok.
The floor is unbalanced due to the foundation most likely.
1. Quiet is very important to me. I stayed there three nights, But one
night (Saturday) was noisy. There was a party on the top floor.
Always bring "earplugs" to hostels, just in case.
2. The immediate neighborhood is somewhat shady.
3. The showers were too small.
Shared bathrooms were a bit old a musty but for less than $50 a night what do you expect? Area was a little seedy but I had no problems day or night.
Though the location is good there where always at night some drunk people on the other side of the street at the liquor store, but that can happen anywhere.
some of the other guests were a little sketchy
homeless people outside.
The one thing only that I find was a bit terrifying was the cockroaches
in my room.
Bathrooms would need to be renovated.
Bathrooms were a liiiiittle small and dirty, and the bedrooms could've used a ceiling fan.
The bathrooms need some renovation.
dicey neighborhood towards market street.
Bit of a dodgy area but walking down 5th street was better. Garbage can in room would've been nice but that's about it.
Small facility rooms
6th street area...
Shared restrooms & showers... No...
No elevator. Not handicap friendly.
The construction on the first floor. However, i stayed on the second floor so didnt hear much.
Shared bathrooms very small and not very clean, spotty Wifi.
shared bathroom.
The area is a little dirty, there are a lot of homeless people there. Maybe not the best place to take a walk at night.
IF I wanted to nip-pick I say the bunk bed was too squeaky, and the bathrooms were clean but they could use just a little remodeling anyways though you get what you pay for, a decent place to sleep in.
There was only 1 bathroom, 1 toilet and 1 shower on our floor for all to share.
Having to carry all our luggage up the flight of stairs.
The fridge was not cleaned.
Sheets and towels were not changed.
The area was a little bit shady, however those people were quite harmless and there was police patrolling every night.
Location and surroundings is not very desirable. The building is very old. No parking in the facility. Public parking is at a premium.
The shared toiled and shower were very small and not well maintened. The room was a little smelly.
The area didn't feel unsafe so don't let that put you off, but it does take some getting used to. The wifi didn't work in the room so I had to sit in the corridor and it seemed everyone else did too. If comfort is high on your list of priorities, this isn't the place for you. If you're on a budget, I'm sure you'll endure your stay.
The location is not good, but I like this hostel.
Dodgy location, no common spaces for meeting other travellers.
Located on a notoriously bad street in the "tenderloin".
-two toilets and two showers on floor for about 2 rooms
-Shabby.
The bathroom is sometimes smelly. But it's fine once it's cleaned by the staff.
Hostel is under construction, most rooms are being renovated.
it is located in south area which has so many homeless around there.
The bathrooms are disgusting.
It's a little frightening. But the price is really good.
Room was dirty. Bed clothes/blankets which were used by another guest before, were also dirty. There was a very bad smell both in the room and in the hall. There were a lot of homeless on the street. Even if they are harmless, it was scary to come back to the hotel in the dark.
There is no lift to the 2nd floor office. My wife didn't like shared bathroom. Front entrance is ins conspicuous, like a small door with adjacent graffiti markings. Homeless abounds.
The common areas are not very clean at all. I killed 4 roaches in my
room while I was there. The showers are growing mold and mildew and my
room smelled terrible and the fridge did not work.
Outside there are Strange People, esspecially at Night, the whole Hostel smells ugly, The bathrooms are Dirty and too small.
