A charming, cosy English pub, the Running Horse Inn offers modern rooms and has its own restaurant and bar. Nestled in the quiet, pretty village of Littleton, outside Winchester, it has free onsite parking and free WiFi available.
The 15 stylish rooms include Freeview TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each has its own private bathroom or shower room.
The restaurant offers a varied lunch and dinner menu, prepared with seasonal, locally sourced produce. A choice of 3 Sunday roasts and homemade desserts are served, as well as a full breakfast menu. You can enjoy locally brewed Upham ales and a selection of wines.
The Running Horse offers a lovely countryside setting, a 25-minute drive from the New Forest National Park. Alternatively, the attractive former capital city of Winchester is just a 12-minute journey in the car. Winchester’s major landmark, Winchester Cathedral is one of the largest in Europe. The M3 motorway is 4 miles from the property and the A34 is less than a 5-minute drive away.

Lovely setting. Excellent communications when I had reason to contact the hotel directly. The recently refurbished rooms and restaurant were a real treat and the food was yummy. We booked some time ago and the new owners honoured our booking price which made our trip the bargain of the Century. Good Luck with Your new acquisition.
We arrived late, hungry & stressed from a flight, then a drive, but Trainee Manager George was incredible. He organised food for us & made us feel very welcome. This young man will be an asset to any future employer in the Hotel business.Best of luck to George. Lovely location in the country.alla recensioner »
What an absolutely gorgeous pub/restaurant and rooms. Decorated so nicely, very clean, updated and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff were really wonderful with our three children. We can't say enough great things about the Running Horse Inn. Highly recommend!.
The staff were friendly and efficient. The room, with desk to work at
and an en-suite with a nice bath, and a big comfortable bed, was perfect
for me. Dinner at the pub was a class above the usual pub food, and
breakfast was good too. Wifi worked well in the bedroom.
The food - particularly the very fresh sandwiches we had for lunch.
The excellent staff and attractive restaurant with interesting paintings.
Easy parking and easy access to A34/M3/M27 and the Hampshire countryside - avoids driving through Winchester.
Nice, clean B & B with attractive breakfast area and very good quality breakfast. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We came back from Winchester and had dinner at the Running Horse it was excellent., again good service and friendly staff.
We were a group that included 4 young children and 6 adults - the staff were superb with the children and made the stay there very enjoyable for all.
Excellent food and excellent breakfast. We recommend The Running Horse highly with no reservations.
Loved our stay, would def go back. Rooms very pleasent, excellent modern decor, beds very comfy and clean, Spacious for a family room too. We all enjoyed our stay. Food was gorgeous, and reasonably priced for the area.
Very clean and tidy rooms and an excellent breakfast freshly cooked for you.
Unfortunately I used the Running Horse as a 'base' while exhibiting at a 'Conference' so no time really to really enjoy the surroundings.
Our first impression was so good we immediately booked another nights stay. Rooms were excellent, clean and very well appointed. Staff very friendly and polite. We would definitely stay here again.
great rooms in the garden of the pub ... Lovely inside and the food is aaaammmmmaaazzzing ... Great service and a lovely bit of heaven in the countryside.
Great menu and reasonably priced too!
Chalet style accommodation basic but clean. Lovely quiet setting, staff very friendly and considerate.
Rooms very practical, everything you need is provided.
The food is wonderful, great chef, exciting menu. For this reason alone stay here!!.
Very friendly staff, food is nice and of good quality, well presented. Rooms are basic, but comfortable for a business traveller.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch, being surrounded by paddocks with horses was great, should be a lovely quite location. Breakfast was o.k.
* friendly staff;
* clean and comfortable;
* good food;
* much better value at Easter than when I stayed here over Christmas.
Position was ideal for our needs. Staff very pleasant & accomodating. Breakfast very good & more than adequate.
Everything - Well appointed large room, excellent bathroom, and reasonably priced good quality food. Would stay again.
Independence thanks to the chalet style.
Excellent restaurant and nice breakfast.

Really friendly staff, lovely rooms and absolutely amazing food, with a splash of local ale thrown in.
Lovely location, very comfortable rooms, great bar and restaurant with
super food and fab staff.

Convenient location on the outskirts of the city, with very attentive and friendly staff.
Detached room very quiet , with the choice of a pub a few steps away , friendly staff.
Fantastic time all staff very helpful, food top quality am planing to go back in july.
friendly staff, lovely food, not far from city or venue where we attended a wedding.
We only stayed one night but found the hotel served all our requirements.
The food was delicious and the staff were really helpful and friendly.
Excellent Dinner in the pub and the breakfast just what was needed.
We liked everything about the place especially the food.
Food Excellant. Staff very good. Attention to detail.

Welcome
Friendly
Convenience.
Nice room, Great Breakfast.
food, room, staff.
fantastic staff.
The staff were all obliging & friendly. It was a very tranquil location in an attractive village. Money had obviously been spent recently on decor. Breakfast was good!.
Car parking, Food in Pub was good.
Nothing not to like.
No complaints at all.
Perhaps the chalet bedrooms were a little small for a longer stay - wardrobe space.
My wife wanted the colour of the front door to be more inviting.
Nothing.
The only thing I could say here would be prehaps few alternatives choices for children's food on menu, for when young families come to stay. Can't fault anything, will def be revisiting when next in the area.
Although the quality of food was excellent we felt the menu choices were limited. Attention to the little details were often lacking - no tea spoons in our room, had to ask for cereal bowls at breakfast, offered fruit juice when half way through breakfast. It seems trivial but these little things would have made the whole stay perfect.
Bed and TV too small for size of the room, not the most comfy of nights.
Being in the unit closest to the hotel we were disturbed by general noise from there, perhaps hotel guest leaving and or staff going back and forth to dispose of bottles and general rubbish.
Summer duvet would have been nice as it was too warm for us.!!.
Nothing.
Minor details: leaking shower head and bedside lamp bulb to be replaced.
The fact that I could not stay 2 nights!.
no dislikes.
Nothing!!.
outside wooden decking (kept getting my heels stuck in them),lighting in chalets could have been brighter.
All ok.
The rooms were perfectly fine, but just looked a little tired. Perhaps add in free WiFi?.
Booked another room for my son. Got charged at full price or a differant
price to Booking .com advertised price. In view of the Trout we always
leave the restaurant it was dissapointing.
Breakfast was cold and we had to send it back tweice!!!!.
the bed wasnt very comfortable.
That we only booked for one night.
Delay on meal service
confusion over menu.
looking forward to eating in restaurant but unfortunately it was fully booked, and they could not fit us in.
The rooms were motel style: not in the same building. Room was too cold on my arrival. Bathroom basin plug didn't work and the hairdryer was missing. I got the feeling no one had checked the room.
Bed very uncomfortable, clinical basic atmosphere of the room, cold on arrival.
