Without checking the check-in time we arrived very late Friday evening but luckily Adrian kindly called us and stayed up late to let us in - you would not get this anywhere else I don't think so we were so grateful bless him. Very nice and friendly atmosphere, room was very spacious and beautiful view. The scenery outside was absolutely gorgeous including the beautiful red leave tree just outside the house. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone! There's a bus stop 5 mins away so if yo. alla recensioner »
We loved our stay in Thwaite Howe! The owners were very friendly and helpful, even printed out a bus schedule for us before arriving knowing we will not have a car! Amazing room, stunning view and the best breakfast ever. The location is perfect - about 2h walk from Keswick (10min by bus, but we love walking) and a path to the mountains and forest right on the side or any other mountains within walking reach. We definitely recommend staying here and experience the best of Lake District. We hop.
When we arrived the owner came out to meet us and welcomed us in to the hotel in a very friendly down to earth manner which set the tone for the wholoe stay. There was a very relaxed atmosphere the other guests where friendly and the breakfast every day was brilliant. The hotel it's self is a beautiful building and very tastefully decorated. After a week there we left feeling very relaxed partly because of the location bur also because of Adrian and Nicola's appraoch to there guests. We will de.
Little bit more than would usually pay but not disappointed. As a same
sex couple enjoyed same response as other guests. Guests lovely great
for everyone enjoying Keswick and surrounding area. Back packers,
walkers, mountain bikers looking for comfort and luxury at the end of a
challenging day would recommend. Excellent vicinity for Whinlatter and
Keswick famous walks. Fantastic breakfast, best full english we have had
that was sourced with local produce. We will stay again in the future.
Adrian was a wonderful host at this bed & breakfast. We were greeted warmly, he gave us wonderful tips and the view from our room (#3) was awesome just as promised. He provided breakfast cooked to order each morning and put out acorns on the table outside so the red squirrel would come get them to eat so we were able to several pictures of it (a rare sight in UK). I would gladly go back and stay here.
A stunning hotel, first class customer service, very friendly staff and an evident high class family run business with delightful children included. Accommodation is of a very high standard, breakfast superb, stunning views, extra touches such as the chocolate when you arrive, glasses available for wine, topping up of tea/coffee and biscuits, knowledge of the local area made it even more special.
This B&B is one of the best we have stayed in. The host was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing with the best eggs we have eaten (real free range). The bed was comfortable and a great sized room. The Middle Ruddings Country Inn has fantastic meals and is just a short walk from the B&B . It was a great experience staying there and I would come back again.
I liked the big comfortable bed at the end of a tiring day (and a wee dram of course).
I also liked seeing red squirrels in the garden.
Additionally, I enjoyed Adrian and Nicola's quiet and calm management of the Hotel providing the optimum atmosphere for a memorable break.
The owner, Adrian, was welcoming, helpful, and very friendly. He recommended great sights and eateries. The view from our room is memorable. It is so peaceful and beautiful all around. This was my favorite stop on our 3-week tour of the British Isles.
A beautiful location - we had a gorgeous view from our room! Adrian was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious - setting us up for a good day out! So much to do and see. We had a fabulous two nights and would return there.

Beautiful house with views towards the Fells. Very peaceful spot and a lovely room. Excellent breakfast. Great place to get away from it all yet very close to many spectacular Fell walks. Hosts very friendly and helpful.
Adrian was very helpful and friendly. He arranged champagne and chocolates for our anniversary with no problem at all.
Room warm and comfortable. Well cooked breakfast. Good value for money and an enjoyable stay.
A lovely country house tucked away from the main road and set in a large garden. Our room was of a good size with excellent view of Skiddaw. We were well looked after and breakfast was personal & sumptuous.
Adrian, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. High quality, hearty breakfast each morning. Lovely location off the beaten track a little. The place was immaculate and comfortable. Would certainly return.
Location was very pretty, friendly hosts and a very tasty breakfast!! Room had an amazing view and very clean and well kept, loved the king size bed :-) we also really liked the resident red squirrel.
Breakfasts were to die for, especially the black pudding! Adrian was very welcoming and accomodating and told us quite a bit about Keswick and surrounding countryside. All in all a wonderful stay.

Location, small hotel / very personal atmosphere, peace and quiet, friendliness of staff and cleanliness, very warm and welcoming, close to town but remote enough for quiet, relaxing holiday.
Very friendly welcome, very clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfasts each day with a view across the valley to Skiddaw. Homely welcome and an excellent base for a walking holiday.
Very accommodating. Even when we brought our 12week old daughter - the hotel could have turned us away but instead could not do enough. Will definitely return!.
Good friendly staff in a superb building and location. Everything from

Pretty location
good Breakfast.
Excellent roll top bath, would have been better with more accessible hot
water. However water heated up quickly so no hardship.
There was no shower in our private en suite room, only a bathtub.
That we didn't stay for longer!.
The shower was set in a bathtub and did not have a curtained enclosure. A minor issue.
Nothing.
Even the weather was great so whats not to like! Approach road a bit narrow but what do you expect in the Lake District much of which is not for timid drivers.
Absolutely nothing.

Nothing of note.
Nothing, it was a great holiday break.
