  FS Bosphorus is in my top three hotel stays of all time. It is an incredible place to stay, with an extraordinarily good spa. The staff treated me like a VIP and were excellent. When I was unhappy with my original room, they went out of their way to upgrade me to a suite, one of 2 rooms left in hotel.   The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
