An hotel with a terrific old-world atmosphere, maintaining it's
British tea-plantation image. The bedrooms/bathrooms could probably
do with a stylish makeover, but were certainly comfortable and spotless.
The restaurant was stunning, with excellent dining, both at dinner and
breakfast. The service was impeccable. A 'memory-lane'

This is indeed a grand old hotel. It is a wonderful piece of history that has to be experienced. It is a bit pricy but worth it. There is not a lot going on in Nuwara Eliya, but we agreed that we could spend a week just enjoying the hotel with a pile of books!Some rooms in the same3 price range are much nicer than others, so take your time and look a bit before you settle in.

The hospitality of the staff - when we arrived at the hotel, we were surprisingly offered a free upgrade to the premium room from deluxe room that we had booked even without asking for it. The staff had a pleasant smile always, was very helpful and was very informative too.

We paid USD 95 dollars per room for 2 people which was extremely reasonable. Infact it was more than value for money.

Everything about this place was unique as per the name of the hotel, very close from the lake, in a good weather everything is at walking distance, mountain scene from the window is perfect and staff is extremely humble and friendly and make you feel at home. Rooms are clear and very cozy and bathtub facing mountains are just out of the world, interior of the hotel and furniture is excellent one of the best interior designed.

It’s a villa with a large garden. The design is so special, it seems lots of history stories here. We got a warm welcome with hot tea and cakes, there was no luxurious reception hall but lovely and warm space just like a sitting room with fireplace. This is a small boutique hotel with very private but not too far from town. The ground, the villa and the facilities are beautiful and well looked after. After a long trip by car, it was the ideal place to relax and enjoy the evening.The room/suite we had is exquisite, comfortable, with a small living room outside. It was cold so Mr. Michael put in our bed 2 hot water bottle and had the fire place going in the living room.
