The Califa is a beautiful higgledy piggledy building with a wonderful
atmosphere. Lots of different rooms on different levels up and down
small staircases and through lovely passage ways all beautifully
decorated. The dining room and courtyard outside it are stunning and the
menu interesting and different. We loved our stay and will be back.

It isn't a castle but the layout and thick walls give that feeling and you want to wander through all it's staircases and courtyards. Stunning views from the terraces and lovely garden for breakfast. The restaurant deserves its good reputation but you have to book. We ate inside which, in its way, was just as atmospheric as the garden and had the benefit of air conditioning on a very hot night.

The location on the Darro Ruver in Granada is excellent. Fairly flat & easy to move your luggage from Plaza/ taxis to the hotel. Great location for catching bus to the Alhambra; great neighborhood for restaurants and exploring the Albayzin, etc. best feature of the hotel was the 2 hour social sherry hour everyday in the Library.

Alhambra and many cafes and shops. The staff were welcoming and helpful
and spoke English, which I appreciated. All was very clean and

This is a family run hotel, and the family are all lovely and couldn't do enough for us. It is in a quiet street just off the Playa San Cristobal and has a pretty central courtyard. The rooms are smallish but beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean - fresh towels every day and thoughtful additions - I used a cushion to prop myself up reading in bed and the next day there was an extra pillow provided for me!

The hotel was very central and easy to find. It was within 5 mins walk from the Tio Pepe Bodega (we went on the tour) and the cathedral and alcazabar. Casa Grande is the ideal place for visiting Jerez and its surroundings. I spent four nights in Jerez and got all the help needed from Monika and her staff. I visited a sherry bodega and went to a flamenco dance show. Cadiz with its nice beaches can be easily reached by train. For all activities the staff was very helpful. The hotel itself is an old townhouse that has been well refurbished. It has a typical patio, a nice roof terrace and tasteful furnishing.

We have stayed at this hotel for 6 of the last 8 years and found it to be consistently good value and in a good location for the beach (which is ideal for sunbathing but the sea is usually a bit too rough unless you are a strong swimmer) -
