  Excellent central location in Gion. The taxi driver from Kyoto station was not familiar with the hotel or its location. When drivers don't know a destination, they can locate it by calling the hotel so make sure you have the phone number handy. He was polite and courteous the whole time. Yasaka Shrine is a b - Location is key to this hotel. It was central to what we wanted to see in kyoto for a day and a half. We were right beside the shoping district district full of restaurants, cafes, and all the different products of kyoto as well as the branded names. Then to the east side of the hotel are the different temples and the feel of ancient japan with a walk in narrow streets full of restaurants, shops, cafes, ets which lead to different temples in the area.
