  All the staff at the hotel were wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautiful, has a lovely little bar which is open late, and a beautiful dining room with a fabulous view of the beach. The room was large and well equipped with shutters over the windows which is great for an afternoon nap! It was pouring it down with rain when the ferry arrived at Stromboli and we were thankful that a golf car was waiting for us. Rooms are a good size, my wife liked the pool and to have a good breakfast facing the sea across a small road was wonderful. Three good nights in firm beds, great.

  A rare gem in the sicilian country side, situated in a valley on the north side of mount Etna with spectacular 360 degrees view.   The Petrara Resort is a charming agriturismo resort in Avola. During our stay there, there were no wandering farm animals except for a couple of cats. The pool is really big and kept clean and kids have plenty of room to wander about and play. We had a quadruple room which was quite spacious and very clean with quite comfortable beds. The parking spaces are numbered matching the room number so each guest has his own parkin - What a haven of peace & tranqulity set in beautiful gardens with a very inviting pool - we had a lovely time just wished we`d stayed longer.Our hosts couldn`t do enough for us and even followed us out in the morning to make sure we got on the motorway ok - thankyou for a very relaxing stay.

Our Double room had striking modern furnishings, a harbour view & wasn’t too noisy – a higher floor would have somewhat reduced the noise but - Great location for Eolian islands cruises.   The staff was welcoming and friendly - even before checking in, they offered information per email on what to do and see. Excellent location to view Etna - fresh air - short walk to the cableway. The room with a terrace is highly recommendable - it gave us a great view both to the sea and to the mountain. I recommend half board; the dinner alternatives were varied, the servings plentyful and the food was just v - Excellent hotel, walking distance from the cable car going up Mount Etna. We arrived late at night, but the man at the reception was extremely nice!! He explained all excursions, answered all of our questions (millions of them), and was able to share with us his love of the volcano. This certainly made our stay. The room was great, super clean, wifi is great.
