  A rare gem in the sicilian country side, situated in a valley on the north side of mount Etna with spectacular 360 degrees view. If you are looking for a place which combines the sicilian cultural he - This is a unique property - an old manor house, fully restored, a producing vineyard and an excellent estate wine that is well worth the modest price. The property is nothing less than dramatic - indeed it looks like a movie set, and could have been, for that matter since, as one of the owners told me, during WWII it was commandeered as a German military hospital, and subsequently taken over by the Allies for the same purpose.   The Petrara Resort is a charming agriturismo resort in Avola. During our stay there, there were no wandering farm animals except for a couple of cats. The pool is really big and kept clean and kids have plenty of room to wander about and play. We had a quadruple room which was quite spacious and very clean with quite comfortable beds. The parking spaces are numbered matching the room number so each guest has his own parkin - What a haven of peace & tranqulity set in beautiful gardens with a very inviting pool - we had a lovely time just wished we`d stayed longer.Our hosts couldn`t do enough for us and even followed us out in the morning to make sure we got on the motorway ok - thankyou for a very relaxing stay.

Our Double room had striking modern furnishings, a harbour view & wasn’t too noisy – a higher floor would have somewhat reduced the noise but - Great location for Eolian islands cruises. Stayed in triple room (suite) and it was very spacious. Bathroom very nice. We didn't had breakfast included, but we had dinner one evening. The service was very good and the food delicious.

  The staff was welcoming and friendly - even before checking in, they offered information per email on what to do and see. Excellent location to view Etna - fresh air - short walk to the cableway. The room with a terrace is highly recommendable - it gave us a great view both to the sea and to the mountain. I recommend half board; the dinner alternatives were varied, the servings plentyful and the food was just v - Excellent hotel, walking distance from the cable car going up Mount Etna. We arrived late at night, but the man at the reception was extremely nice!! He explained all excursions, answered all of our questions (millions of them), and was able to share with us his love of the volcano. This certainly made our stay. The room was great, super clean, wifi is great.

  Room are quite big and very clean. Wifi is available at an extra charge. Parking is only available in the street. Although they did offer that someone comes for the car to a private garage, at a charge. But that's not an ideal scenario as you need to inform an hour before when you needed the car and they would need to drive the car themselves. When the rooms were serviced each day there were many little additional touches that showed that the staff really cared. Lovely clean, bright rooms with plenty of storage space and good air conditioning. The mini bar fridge and valuables safe were especially useful.

  The hotel has a beautiful setting. It was more luxurious than any other of the 7 hotels vi visited during our trip in Sicily. The tour around the well invested winery was very interesting. A wine tasting was arranged for the dinner. Excellent food and superb wines. Our favourite wine was Sanlore.   We were upgraded to a suite for the room price, the chef cooked to order for us on two occasions, the meals were delightful. The staff were very friendly and helpful - The Spa like attitude of the hoteland the way it was set up.The resturant was excellant.
