  What a wonderful place to stay with so much History at your finger tips! The staff were all very helpful. We were given an upgrade at no extra cost. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. It was such a delight to walk around the Sassi, especially at night. - The situation was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, even recomm... vad folk säger » ending great places for us to eat. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

  A great location to explore Matera and its famous Sasso on foot. We were lucky to find free parking next to the B & B. The rooms are very recently renovated and stylish, with vaulted ceiling, rainshower with mood lighting and modern touches.   Hotel Martino is located on the coast on the outskirts of Maratea, Italy. It is a great little budget hotel with amazing views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and they spoke a little English. They had a restaurant "on site" and offered a continental breakfast included with your stay. We would absolutely st... vad folk säger » ay there again! (Just be sure to go during the "summer" season starting on June 1st - more amenities!) - Great location and close to restaurants for dinner. There is one attached to the hotel which makes it convenient but if you want something other than seafood you may have to find another place to eat. Breakfast was included and it was a great way to start the day. The town of Maratea is close by as well as other sites that are quite and beautiful. Would recommend staying here to anyone looking for a spot a little off the beaten path.

  We opened the shutters in our room to see a superb view of the famous sassi of Matera. The staff at reception went out of their way to help us check the details of the next leg of our journey and the friendliness we received left us with just a desire to return soon.   Charming B&B in the true sense, where the hosts are proud of the place they run, where home made products are served for breakfast and where one is welcomed in a warm and personal way. Location is AAA.. interior is pretty stylish for originally very poor man's lodgings. One could not wish for more anywhere really..!   The hotel is beautiful, certainly reminiscent of a Medici Palace. very spacious. We had a junior suite which had fantastic views of the Sassi, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.   Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.   The was my best hotel experience, ever! This place exceeded every expectation I imagined. The owner, Fernando, was charming and a delight to talk to. He has lived in Matera for 22 years and has been in charge of the restorer action of the property. It is incredible. My wife was overcome with tears of joy when she saw the room. The rooms are made out of c - Host and owner Fernando sets the benchmark of hospitality in Italy. Generous and helpful, he booked us tables at the most interesting restaurants nearby and filled us in on the fascinating history of this interesting town (over grappa). The rooms themselves embody this history and are each different, without sacrificing luxury. Simplicity as well as attention to details. Thoroughly recommend.
