  What a wonderful place to stay with so much History at your finger tips! The staff were all very helpful. We were given an upgrade at no extra cost. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. It was such a delight to walk around the Sassi, especially at night. - The situation was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, even recomm... vad folk säger » ending great places for us to eat. The rooms were clean, warm and comfortable and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

  We opened the shutters in our room to see a superb view of the famous sassi of Matera. The staff at reception went out of their way to help us check the details of the next leg of our journey and the friendliness we received left us with just a desire to return soon.   Charming B&B in the true sense, where the hosts are proud of the place they run, where home made products are served for breakfast and where one is welcomed in a warm and personal way. Location is AAA.. interior is pretty stylish for originally very poor man's lodgings. One could not wish for more anywhere really..!   The hotel is beautiful, certainly reminiscent of a Medici Palace. very spacious. We had a junior suite which had fantastic views of the Sassi, breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff are very friendly and helpful.We managed to converse with our limited Italian as this is yet to be really developed as a tourist destination.   Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.   Mycket hjälpsam personal. - Rooms were nicely appointed, the hotel is walking distance from the beautiful historic town, the breakfast provided onsite was delicious and had a larger selection than is typical in this region. There is plenty of parking in the piazza with abundant signage to locate the reception. Exceptional value - we will come back... vad folk säger » . - We loved staying in the cave. The rooms are made out of c - Host and owner Fernando sets the benchmark of hospitality in Italy. Generous and helpful, he booked us tables at the most interesting restaurants nearby and filled us in on the fascinating history of this interesting town (over grappa). The rooms themselves embody this history and are each different, without sacrificing luxury. Simplicity as well as attention to details. Thoroughly recommend.

  Amazing cave room - absolutely HUGE! Believe this was the best room and it certainly had the wow factor and provided a unique experience. Lovely outside terrace too.Staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious and generous. De-humidifiers essential though - it had rained and the humidity in the room was quite high but what do ... vad folk säger » you expect from a cave! A fabulous experience and would highly recommend a trip to this amazing place. - The location in the centre of Sassi is perfect. The amenities were excellent, we did not want for anything and outstanding views right in front of the Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
