Highly recommended!! I liked everything about it! It's almost like I don't want to say too much because I was so positively surprised by how we were taken care of. I've never had a better hotel experience (even at fancy places), and it felt like staying with a nice Greek family. FYI: don't get a taxi at the port, but look for the Hotel Grotta van, they pick you up. Or you can simply walk a little ways away from the ferry (we came by ferry) and look up to your left. Beautiful rooms nicely decorated with a personal touch, nice clean bathroom, well equipped kitchenette, comfortable bed, excellent service (welcome gifts, sheets changes every two days, towels every day). Very nice and friendly owners (we were surprised to receive a cake and a watermelon during our short stay). Nice and new building, quiet neighbourhood, large balcony. Very nice pool and close to the beach (2 min walk). Overall great experience. Definately recommend this place.

The owners were very helpful from picking us up at the port to filling the fridge with produce from their garden. There was also plenty of private outdoor space as we had a balcony and huge terrace. The studio and the grounds were kept spotlessly clean. We would stay there again.

It was a pleasure to stay at Mare Monte. They picked us up from the ferry, although it was an hour delayed. Very nice introduction to the hotel and the area. The public bus has it's final stop at the hotel in front of Mare Monte. (Goes every 15-30 minutes) Very nice breakfast brought straight to the room (5EUR). -

I stayed at Sophi's Studios & Apartments early September 2013. I was picked up by Sophi at the port and taken to my room. Sophi upgraded my room for free to a 3-level apartment with a large balcony. This has been a great experience. Naxos is a beautiful island and Sophi is a wonderful host. The apartment was spacious and impeccably clean, and we felt cordially welcome at all times. The place is close to three long first-class beaches with frequent bus service to Chora, but also with its own places to go and stuff to do. Wonderful studio with a beautiful view on the seaside and sunset.The studio is very large (we had booked the superior studio) and is located 5 mn walk from the old town, perfect for sight seing. Transfer to the ferry is organised by the hotel. - Beautiful sunset views. Friendly staff. Very cheap!
