  We were wanting to walk the Samaria Gorge and not sure how we could get from the end of the gorge back to our hotel in Omalos. Our hostess at the hotel told us how we could catch a ferry to Sougia from the end of the walk and then take a bus to a specific destination and she would have the car from the hotel pick us up there. It worked like a ch... vad folk säger » arm and we arrived back at our hotel without a hitch. - N.O. is ideally positioned for outdoors folk beginning a trek into the Lefka Ori or the Samaria Ravine. Friendly staff, good food, decent beds. Re the disaffected gentleman from Cambridge who didn't get his request for an early ride to Xyloskala: İf you are of the herd, stay with the herd. İf not, walk to Xyloskala. İt's five easy kms.

  Omalos is very quiet, off-the-track and beautiful. It felt like a real get-away. The accommodation was very clean, equipped to a high standard and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful but not in an over-eager to please way. - I liked very much the apartment. It was recently refurbished. Everything was very nice and clean.
