  The location of Athos Hotel is perfect. We took the metro from the airport to Syntagma Square, then walked only about three blocks to the hotel. It's close to restaurants, sights and shopping, but on a quieter side street. A big plus was the super-friendly restaurant right across the street, where I could get a half carafe of wine to take to the h... vad folk säger » otel's roof patio and have a drink while looking out at the acropolis. - The Athos is located within walking distance of the Plaka area and the Acropolis as well as the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch...we are walkers but this is easy walking. If you can get a room on the 4th floor you can get a spectacular view of the Parthenon from your window. Either way the view from the roof is just as beautiful.. The shopping streets are close by too, as well as lots of good eating options.

  The hotel is situated in an old part of Athens called the Plaka. It is right by the Accropolis and Hadrians Gate. Very central within walking distance to the center of town. 5 minutes from the Metro. There are shops and restaurants close by and an excellent old town square. There are two PCs in the lobby and genrally really good value for money.   The hotel is within 10-15 minutes walking distance of Omonia Metro in an area that feels safe because there are always people around. The staff are friendly and helpful; we were able to leave some luggage in their care while we travelled to a couple of islands. Our double room had a balcony with a stunning Acropolis view.   Fast free wireless Internet in rooms and common areas. Lockers more than a meter high, large enough for a suitcase and rucksack. Spotlessly clean. Various breakfasts available on a pay as you go basis. Greek breakfast of a large dish of yoghurt with muesli and honey, bread, jam. Juice and hot drink for only 4€. The staff are pleasant, speak English well and are very helpful. You - Very nice and polite personel in in the reception in the hotel showing, describing and explaning every route /way/ to every place in Athens and in all Greece, and of course hostel offers very good localization in the center of the city and many facilities from offering free very good maps of Athens to organizing trips to different Islands of Greece .
