Mike at the desk is a star. His English isn't brilliant but he will do anything to try and help, whether it be finding a phone adaptor, or guiding you to the best fish restaurants (and they're all pretty good around Danaos-very local). Staff were insanely nice and extremely helpful. They let me check in early and because it was towards the end of the season they upgraded my room from a double to a quadrouple. You can book excursions around crete through the hotel. I booked a hike to Samaria Gorge, the old man at reception woke up and made me breakfast before the hike. It's also right on the town beach and 10 minute walk to the old part of Chania.

create a very relaxed feeling in what is a pretty grand space. We were
upgraded to one of the suites which left us feeling stunned - we had 2
floors of exquisite decor and facilities, and we just could not believe
our good fortune. The suite also had it's own terrace with
incredible views over Chania's Venetian port. The breakfast was
superb - you certainly won't need lunch - the yoghurt, in
particular, was the best I've ever
