  We were welcomed with raki and homemade treats. Our room was spacious and clean and the view from the balconies is absolutely stunning. Marina was so friendly and cheerful the whole time. Despite her limited English she tried to help us out with whatever questions we had.   How can you not just love the arms wide open welcome of Aristea herself. Our family of five stayed in one of her two story apartments and it worked very well for us. The deck over looking the valley below was spectacular at sunset. Breakfast was delivered promptly at the time requested and was ample and filling. For a village feel you certainly ... vad folk säger » get the warmth that prevailed throughout our stay in Anogeia. The owner of her favorite restaurant stopped by to personally invite us to come to his p - Mama is a delight-she speaks very little English but makes up for it with her enthusiastic hospitality (she gave my wife flowers when we left and was genuinely sad to see us go). The view from the expansive balcony of the mountains is amazing. Also, the sound of the bells round the goats/sheep necks lulls you to sleep. Quintessential Crete experience all round!
