It's a great location just of the Stradun, really easy to get around to the cable car, the walls, restaurants etc.
**Tip** Take a backpack and not suitcases, there are a LOT of steps in Dubrovnik old town and carrying a suitcase up and down them is a bit of a pain. don't let that put you off staying in the old town though, it's romantic and beautiful. My husband and I stayed at Batala apartments for 3 nights and found it to be extremely good value in an otherwise fairly expensive city.

This was a really nice place to stay. Our one-bedroom apartment was in the highest floor with a wonderful view. The harbour in front of the building is really interesting to watch, big ships coming and going. In the house there was very quiet. We have just got back from 6 nights at Apartments Mirta and we cannot recommend it highly enough! Mirta is a fantastic host and makes you feel really at home. She really goes above and beyond to help you out and make sure you have a great holiday. The location of the Apartments is excellent, being only a 10 minute walk from the Old Town and 15 minutes from the beach (although it is downhill so does take longer on the way back!).

The hotel is a beautifully restored mansion and is a refuge from the crowded madness of Dubrovnik . Extremely friendly and informative staff. Room 31, although at the top of the house has an amazing roof terrace, must be seen. Great value hotel and a great place to be based for a trip of any length to the stunning Dubrovnik.

Even we were only two, we prefered to stay here (the apartment is very large and has a seperate room for another two). The location couldn't be better, the facilities are more than you can think of, the view is breathtaking and the owner (Sinisa Zakula) is a gentelman.
