My initial anxiety about the location disappeared quickly. My room was cozy, in the basement, and turned out to be very quiet. Bed comfortable, room clean. I had fresh air from a window on an inner courtyard, and even with the window open could hardly hear traffic. Hotel was fairly quiet, overall.

  The front staff are excellent. The location for everything can not be beat. The room was big and I like that there is a dresser to unpack my clothes and hangers to hang stuff up. There are 2 showers and 2 toilets on each floor. Never had to wait for either. The place was awesome for our needs. As well, Dottie's, which is a fantastic place for breakfast, is right next door. - They have done a great job restoring the building. The showers and restrooms were always clean. The washers and dryers were brand new and worked very well. The staff here are cool. Great place to stay. The area doesn't bother me, but I was born and raised in San Francisco. Most of the freaky people are on the other side of Mission Street.
